An Introduction to the Civil Engineering Department of the Islamic University

The Civil Engineering Department is one of the most prestigious departments in the Faculty of Engineering, as it was established in 1992-1993 A.D. It is an inherent part of the fabric of the Islamic University and is one of its largest departments in terms of the number of graduates. The department has provided the local, Arab and international community with hundreds of graduates, some of whom occupy the highest ranks, and quite a few of them complete their grades in the most prestigious Arab and foreign universities. which demonstrates the excellence of the department’s graduates and their ability to compete in Arab and international . Civil engineering has evolved through the ages until it reached our modern age with new solutions, innovative points and modern technologies on skyscrapers around the world, and artificial islands on the edge of the sea shores. And the roads, bridges, tunnels, networks, and very complex infrastructure.

Civil Engineering currently includes multiple branches, such as construction and design of wastewater networks, and studies on soil, basics and space

The department has developed to open the master’s and doctoral programmes to up to five disciplines currently: project management, infrastructure, water sources, road networks, wastewater, and gematics.The department also developed a doctoral program in water technology.
